The abbreviation of the American Broadcasting Companies, Inc. is ABC. ABC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Capital Cities/ABC, Inc. (Philip Morris, Inc. vs. ABC suit filed 3/24/94). ABC operates the ABC Television Network. ABC ran stories on nicotine on Day One programs on February 29, 1994 and on March 7, 1994. The reporter for those stories was John Martin. Philip Morris Companies, Inc. and Philip Morris, Inc. filed suit against ABC, reporter John Martin and producer Walt Bogdanich in the Circuit Court for the City of Richmond, Virginia, No. LX-8163. ABC is represented by the firm of Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering in the libel suit by Philip Morris. (TPLR 9:2).
