Anand A. Yang

Anand A. Yang "is Director of the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies and Chair of International Studies at the University of Washington. Professor Yang received his B.A. from Swarthmore College (1970) and Ph.D. from the University of Virginia (1976). Among other works, his publications include The Limited Raj: Agrarian Relations in Colonial India, Saran District, 1793-1920 (Berkeley: University of California Press, 1989; Delhi: Oxford University Press, 1989) and Bazaar India: Peasants, Traders, Markets and the Colonial State in Gangetic Bihar, 1765-1947 (Berkeley: University of California Press, 1998; New Delhi: Munshiram Manoharlal, 2000)." He is a director of the American Council of Learned Societies.
