"Born and raised in Canada, Henderson earned his bachelor of science degree in mathematics from the University of Winnipeg in 1970 and his Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1976."[1]

In 1997, he wrote a letter to Philip Morris's (PM) General Counsel saying "I would like to be even more active. That is why I am writing you. If I can be of help in any way in this crucial struggle, please call me." Along with the letter Henderson enclosed pro-PM articles he'd written and referred to having met PM executive Roy Marden at the 1994 meeting of the Mont Pelerin Society. [1] PM wrote back "We appreciate your offer of assistance and may be in touch with you in the future." [2]
