Biographical Information

"Dr. Eva Bellin "is the Myra and Robert Kraft Professor of Arab Politics at Brandeis University. Previously, she was an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Hunter College at the City University of New York. Her fields of specialization are Comparative Politics, Politics of the Middle East and North Africa, Democratization, Political Economy of Development, and Religion and Politics. Named in April 2006 as a Carnegie Corporation Scholar in Islamic Studies, Dr. Bellin was described by the Corporation as one of the most outstanding scholars in the United States today in the study of the politics of the Middle East. Her current work focuses on the role of the courts in Egypt and Pakistan, among other subjects. Dr. Bellin has taught at Harvard University and the Paul H. Nitze School of International Studies at The Johns Hopkins University in Washington, D.C. She received her B.A. from Harvard and her Ph.D. from Princeton University. " [1]
