Biographical Information

In 2012 he joined KPMG and is now a UK member of KPMG’s Global Center of Excellence for Health. [1]

Malcolm joined the University Hospitals Leicester NHS Trust "as Chief Executive on 6 May 2008. He was Chief Executive of King's College Hospital Foundation Trust, a major partner of the College, from 2002 to May 2008. He was previously Chief Executive of the Peterborough Hospitals Trust. He was an adviser to the former Commission for Health Improvement from 2002 to 2004 and has been Vice Chairman of the Programme Board of the Service and Delivery Organisation Programme of the National Institute of Health Research Programmes since 2001. Malcolm has been the Chair of the Chief Executive’s Research Forum since 2003 and became a member of the Implementation Board for the National Institute for Health Research in 2006. Malcolm was a Director of the Picker Institute 2007-9, a Director of the NIHR RISC Programme 2007-10. He is currently a member of the Advisory Council of the King’s Fund, a member of the Strategic Advisory Board of Loughborough University, a member of the Life Sciences Innovation Delivery Board, HEFCE’s Health Education Advisory Committee and is a Trustee of the Thomas Cook Children's Charity.

"Malcolm is Chair of the NIHR / Industry Leadership Forum, the Scientific Advisory Board of the NIHR Patient Safety & Service Quality Centre at the King’s College Hospital, the Theme Selection Panel for the NIHR / Wellcom Health Innovation Challenge Fund, and the East Midlands Collaboration for Management Sciences in Health. Qualifications – Masters degree in Organisational Behaviour and bachelor’s degree in Modern History."[1]
