Maura Flynn was Associate Producer and Publicist for the film Michael Moore Hates America. Flynn is currently directing "Devil's Weed", a documentary about the Minneapolis smoking ban. [1]

Flynn began her career at Reason Magazine, where she served as editorial assistant. She received a Felix Morley Journalism Award for editorial writing on the subject of liberty.

She went on to direct public relations for the Individual Rights Foundation, a legal support non-profit for conservative and libertarian causes. Flynn became managing editor for the IRF's magazine, The Defender.

Flynn headed public relations and publications for the Radio America Network in Washington DC, where she also produced the nationally syndicated radio program, Profiles.

Teaming up with producer, Curt Johnson, Flynn is currently directing Devil's Weed, a documentary about the Minneapolis smoking ban.

The Minnesota chapter of the American Lung Association, who describes Flynn "as pitchwoman for comedian Tim Slagle", ridiculed the proposed film in its blog. "A man walks into a Minneapolis bar. Suddenly, his civil liberties are gone! That seems to be the plot summary of 'Devil's Weed' ... What stole this poor man's civil liberties? Why the smoking ban, of course!", the ALA wrote.

Other recent projects include the controversial documentary, "Michael Moore Hates America", which received solid critical attention, including "Two Thumbs Up" from Ebert and Roeper. [2]
