"After graduating with Honors as a Mechanical Engineer from Ain Shams University in 1984, Wael Nawara worked for Schlumberger in the Far East and Middle East between 1984 and 1989. In 1990, Wael earned a Diploma in Business Administration from the American University in Cairo (AUC), a Masters in international marketing from University of Strathclyde in the UK in 1991, and a Diploma from the Market Research Society in London in 1992. Wael received a number of local and international awards for excellence marketing, new media and other areas related to his professional and business careers.
"In July 2003, Wael was one of the early founders of El Ghad Liberal Democratic Movement and one of the main contributors in developing El Ghad political, economic and social platforms. In March 2004, El Ghad initiated a wide campaign for change, “Change Now,” which called for constitutional, political, legislative, administrative, economic, social and cultural reforms and was later legally recognized as an Egyptian political party by the Egyptian government. In 2005, El Ghad candidate, Dr. Ayman Noor, was first runner up, second to President Mubarak, in the first ever multi-candidate presidential elections in Egypt. Wael was the spokesman and campaign manager of this presidential election campaign and represented El Ghad in many election debates. From 2005 to 2006, Wael was Secretary General of El Ghad Liberal Party and then became Chairman of the Executive Board of the Party in April 2007. In July 2010, Wael was elected Secretary General of El Ghad Party. Wael is also a co-founder and an active member of the National Association for Change.
"Wael is a co-founder of the Egyptian Junior Business Association (EJB) and the e-Learning and Business Solutions Association (eLABs) of which he currently serves as a board member. Wael is also a co-founder of the Network of Arab Liberals (NAL), an alliance consisting of liberal parties and movements from nine Arab countries. In 2008, Wael was elected a board member of NAL and in November 2010 Wael was elected president of the organization."
